I actually think this is all inevitable, unfortunately. Cars are getting better gas mileage, electric cars are coming (slowly), biodiesel is here (is that french fries I smell on the interstate?), and all sorts of other non-gas vehicles are coming on the market. We pay for roads (supposedly) with taxes on gas and on road diesel. They've got to come up with another plan to pay for the roads. I don't want to see it as I drive for a living, for the most part. There's two parts to this, federal and state. I wonder what the feds are thinking about?
It's coming, but it may be some time until it's implemented completely. If they are going to do that then take the taxes off of gasoline and diesel.
