How f'ing stupid am I, bike loaded up for the weekend, sitting at the lights in my home town, stand up to get comfortable and over she goes.....arghhhh!!!!!!
Gravity works, esp with such a heavy bike. crash bars are key! I haven't done it yet, But in the next 50K miles she will be on her side at least once. It happens, good luck getting her fixed back up!
I am actually confused as to what is painted and what is just plastic.
I had damage on my right saddlebag, front and trailing edge of the fairing and front fender. Sanded them all. With 2000 grit, wet. Very lightly. The sanding actually dull haze on the finish. Scared the crap out of me, but I figured I was looking at a paint job anyway. After hours of compounding (light compound), polishing and waxing, all with an electric buffer, the dull haze polished out and the scratches all but disappeared.
As I said, I didn't appear to go through any layers of paint. I dunno, but it sure came out great.
