Kawasaki Corporate History 1941-1950
« on: June 29, 2012, 12:01:23 PM »
http://www.khi.co.jp/english/company/history/002.html

Seems rather strange that K. has only 1 entry for this time period, a bomber made by the factory.

An interesting topic is the list of current companies that were involved with WW2. Most include revisionist "history".
The names are quite familiar, IBM, Benz, Bayer, BASF... even General Motors and Ford!

This whole area is very muddy and confusing.............. for good reason no doubt.

Kawi employed prisoners of war for labor purposes.  There isn't much history written

Kawasaki #1 POW Branch Camp
Location:
Tokyo 1-B
KAWASAKI-shi, OSHIMA-machi

Primary Labor Use: Slave labor in Kawasaki ship yard.

Memoir from Bob Denmark, a gunner on the SS Kirkpool said 18 naval and five military personnel on board the Kirkpool were taken to Kawasaki #1 in Tokyo. (Civilians mostly sent to Fukushima). Kirkpool and Nankin sunk by German raider Thor.

Its probably safe to say just about every company in this country and all the others involved at the time had something to do with WWII, it was TOTAL WAR, something unknown to virtually anybody under 60 years old in this country.
