Thanks for the advice, I will look for some steel.
https://www.wikihow.com/Is-Aluminum-Cookware-SafeSounds like you won't be using it for direct cooking but it will get hot enough to gas off though or possibly melt as George has suggested. If it were me, I wouldn't use it. I have seen non-Aluminum 'grid' material for sale in hw stores and I have used that as a base for my chimenea when the original grid burned out.
This will give you a chance to explore the melting point of aluminum.
Welcome aboard Nice taste in colour.
The steel charcoal pan on my Okalahoma Joes Table Top grill is rusting out. A replacement is 50 bucks. I am planning to repair the pan with some aluminum plate I have on hand. Is there any health hazard involved with cooking with an aluminum charcoal pan?I know this is an odd question for a motorcycle forum but a lot of you guys seem to know about everything. And I don't really want to join a grill forum.
I have friends who have or have had BMW motorcycles and their phrase was"You know why it's called a K bike? Because every time you need a service it's $1K."Don't get me wrong, they love their bikes and ride the hell out of them.
I just don't have the energy or experience. So Imma let'em do it all
When I did mine some years back I took the forks off the bike and brought them to the Kwackers tech at a local Kwackers dealer. Bear in mind that if you do that, break loose the top caps before you take the forks off the bike. You might get it done quicker that way.
Well, my lazy-ass has been using the Seal Doctor every now and then, when the small leaks re-occur. Over the last few years, the frequency has increased. So I can't play games anymore. I am ready to surrender my bike to a local shop I trust to do the seal replacement correctly. As always, they are weeks backlogged. Anyway, I have the option of bringing in the parts, which would guarantee the bike isn't captive while waiting for parts, and correct parts are there. Can someone verify I identified them correctly?https://www.ronayers.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b82b1f8700223e47996b2/front-fork92049-1522 x 292093-1480 x 2The descriptions seem wrong since both say "Seal" and "Fork Outer Tube". I think the 92093 is the dust cover and the 92049 is the actual oil seal. Right? Is there anything else they are likely to need?I do prefer factory parts on something like this, which carries significant risk/labor. And I have ordered from Ron Ayers before. Thanks
Hello from eastern Iowa.I own and ride an '86 c10. The bike was previously owned by my father, from whom I bartered it.I have owned various older (1970s-1980s) kawis in the past. And being a married with children working fool, I do all my own bike maintenance and repair. The bike had been sitting dormant since 2018, when i resurrected her about a week before a multiple state cross country ride last summer.
