As for notching the fairings....a dremmel makes real quick work of it. Just be sure both tabs engage and mark appropriately before cutting
Could you explain this procedure a bit further? What tabs are you referring to? This is my first time with the fairings off. Is it pretty much the same on both sides?
Thanks!
Carl
I just cut the entire vertical piece between the two fins out. The way I saw it once you cut it all possibility of support for the fins is gone. So why not clear the entire path for the cages. And of course it does make removing the plastic with the cages on real easy.
If you cut it as pictured above that lil bit left between the fins will engage the tab inside of the front fairing and support the top fin better. Without that lil bit there's nothing holding onto that fin. Do it however you want, it's your bike.

Gotta admit I missed the fact that there was a tab to engage on the front fair fairing. Now I know. There's that 20-20 hindsight I'm so used to using.
Speaking of Ryan, haven't heard anything from him lately. Wonder if he's wound up in the Kwak PD bike recall?
... Anyway, I wanted to ask you about this PD bike recall, I didn't hear about that! There was a Kawi recall on the police bikes?!
