I'm having my surgery this coming week. Wish me luck.
I'm more than just a little nervous. It's an out patient procedure but I'll be 'put under' for two to three hours.
It's amazing that they can correct this with just an outpatient procedure! I'm not a fan of anesthesia, but afterwards, I'm
always upset with myself for being a 'baby' about the whole thing. Heck, who in the hell wants to be awake during the procedure?
Good luck, God bless, and maybe a few of us can stop using CAPS so you can hear us!!
Other than the anesthesia my biggest worry is that the surgery will mess with my balance. Part of the surgery involves the cochlea and it may take a while before I can ride again. I may be out of work for a while but I have PLENTY of sick leave to use up before I retire.
Welcome to my world. I posted on the COG site of my past 6 months, http://forum.cog-online.org/index.php/topic,43660.0.html, and I'm battling
dizziness and balance issues. I'm seeing a 'Vestibular specialist', and they are a big help in my recovery. You might want to check if there's any in your
area. As for the anesthesia, either 30 minutes or 2 hours, the only difference is what time it is when you wake up. But you have company, I'm with you.

Unconsciousness is nothing to worry about.... unless one of us was in the area, and then you should be terrified, not just a little nervous. You cannot even imagine what Kirby and Mr. Elkhoof could think of to do to you while you lying there..... although the mental image I have of some of the tattoos are pretty funny.
Best of luck with both the procedure as well as the improvement you expect from it Conrad. I hope it works as well for you as you expect, or perhaps even better.
