I should've been more specific. Got plenty of gear. Backpacking included. Done plenty of pack in camp trips and hunts. Used to carrying a lot of gear. Didn't know if people had any specific tips. Like I think I'm going to pack my sleeping bag right behind the front seat so I can have a bit of a back rest.
Since you will be carrying most of the gear (unless your better-half also rides a C14), don't forget to refer to your bike as "Luggage" at every opportunity.
When I used to camp I always put the tent on the back seat as that was the heaviest single item.
The sleeping bag(s) can go on top of the trunk or even on top of the side-bags as they are light.
The ideal is to keep the weight as low as possible as that improves handling and control.
