That is amazing- my state is not even in the top 25 and here I thought it should be 2nd or 3rd.
I was thinking the same thing. It was updated for 2018 and now Florida is # 8 worst and Mississippi is #1. Apparently, Virginia is #34 (17th best)... so I guess I need to shut up about all the bad drivers here?
Here is the full updated list:

And yeah, I would take these "statistics" with a grain of salt. Doesn't appear to be very scientific and the criteria are a bit strange.
Drivers are pretty crazy where I live near Fredericksburg, VA. I can tell the difference after being somewhere other than here in the craziness quotient. Gets worse as you go north.
I'm not convinced the statistics in this list are the final word on bad drivers. I would nominate Texas, #9 on this list, to be in the top 5 at least. One of the statistics not on this list but certainly should be is: "Number of drivers permanently in the left lane going less than the speed limit". Texas would be #1 for that statistic. I've been spending some time in Oklahoma (#3) and I can say without a doubt, TX has WAY more drivers parked in the left lane than OK.
Give that man a cheroot! You nailed one of, or maybe the MAIN complaint of lots and lots of drivers: hanging in the left lane(s), cruising along like he / she is the only human on the planet.
I forgot to mention this lil gem of irritation about Florida drivers.OMG!
This happened to me twice in Florida on I-75.
Pulled the RV into a gas station/fast food joint. You know the type, a gas station that also has a fast food restaurant in the same building.
As I pulled into the station I saw that all the pumps were taken and some even had one or two cars waiting their turns. I pull the RV in and get in line. Then I notice that there's no one in the car in front of me. I check the other cars at the pumps and there's no one in them either. WTF? EVERY single lane was the same, no one in the cars. Where are they? They parked their damn cars at the pump and went in to order food!!!
Who does that?
As the couple comes back to the car in front of me with their bags of food I asked them if they got anything for me. I get the look. Then the guys proceeds to put gas in his car.
I pulled into a station this morning and there was a car being fueled, engine idling, no one around. I'm thinking what happens if the nozzle is broken and won't shut off and gas spills all over the ground? And I'm right behind this fn idiot whose POS car could blow up an entire station and me with it.
OMG!
I don't use the OMG letters very much, but when I do it's to marvel (sic) at how stupid and inconsiderate my fellow citizens are.
This is what we have to put up with now, I fear that our kids will have the same thing happen to them only then the family will proceed to eat in the car and then all pile out for the restrooms before they leave the pump.
This ain't the place for political references....I don't want to move this thread to the Arena.
Yep, gotta love those intelligent and considerate Floridians. Hey, I wonder if they voted Republican or Democrat?
I am sure the great majority of the people voted Democrat or Republican. The percentage of votes for any 'third party' or unaffiliated (independent) person is always very small.
(there ya' go Jim, fixed up the thread and took the politics out..... )
Brian
Why thank you, Brian. You sanitized that nicely.
You left out one small but very non vocal voting group. The non voting populace.
One of my very favorite definitions: 'Tact, the act of rubbing out another's mistake rather than rubbing it in.'. Not to say that you made any mistakes, just that the overall sentiment in that line applies I think.
If that idea is expanded a little more to include manners and a reasonable amount of respect for other people, the world would be a better place. It sounds really odd to say, but I believe this is true: things like mass shootings are nothing but bad manners 'writ large'.... seriously. Imagine how much better things would be if all of us made, oh, perhaps a 20% effort to simply be nice and respect other's. I mean while driving, being neighbors, shopping in a store, etc. etc. instead of making what all too often seems like an 85% effort to be obnoxious and punish anything even remotely perceived as the slightest misbehavior. I certainly do not claim to have reached this level of continuous behavior but mostly I do try.... as I suspect the vast majority of people do. Remember, it is only a very small fraction of the population that ever makes 'the news' and that is almost always with some type of..... er, 'misadventure'.
Anyway, back to your normally scheduled broadcast of 'What makes me crazy and annoyed....'.
Brian
That's the problem right there, Brian. We shouldn't have to 'try to be 20% nicer and respect other's'. This should come naturally. I know, I know. A perfect world and all that ****...
