I wish you best of luck on those, it will require you to now remove the windshield, 4 screws and a very fragile bunch of work, to remove the black plastic inner pans that had 1 rivet in them each, time savings and ease? no, and the other bottom rivet spots to boot.
there are enough painful screws to remove already, in blind and really difficult access points for these fairings to me, and getting them all aligned and screws installed, to me is a buzz kill. I've pulled fairings on these bikes at least 20 times, using a rechargeable electric 1/4 drive ratchet and bits speed the process, and allow access in the confined spaces, but still are a pain to get all of them out while sitting on the floor... I'm old also, but have a lift, it helps.  I'll caution you on the clip nuts, because it will be all too easy to over tighten the ones you are planning on doing, and resultingly breaking the fragile tabs that the rivets hold together.... in some cases, these fasteners were chosen because they didn't require any compression to hold things, just to restrict lateral movements on panels located by strategic mounting interlocking tabs...
it seems to be an overkill on the fastener for those points, which you may find when you tighten them down, and hear... crack.

ouch!  ok - maybe not...  I just don't like the idea...  I'm sure I'd like broken fairings even less!

The problem with having those rivets or speed nuts as Mage showed, is that the windshield needs to be pulled to remove a fairing cover. Since my Fuzeblock is under the right side fairing, this just add to the steps required if I need to change a fuse. With those specific rivets missing, its 6 bolts and the side cover is off.

The 2 rivets can be removed easily without taking off the windshield. Just use an off set screw driver or what I use is a pick with a 90 degree bent end. Harborfrieght sells the complete pick set for $1.99 , In the picture its the pick all the way on the right side.

Ahhhh...OK, there's the rub.
 Yes, I see now why you might want to leave the rivets out. You do not need to remove the windshield to get those out or in, although it does make it a little easier to do so.  I raise the windshield and then turn off the bike while holding the up button so the windshield stays raised. Then using almost anything like what zarticus showed in his post (I've used bent stout paper clips) and a couple of rags shoved in the lose a part here slots under the windshield the rivets can be removed or installed without windshield removal. However for fuse access, I can see why you wouldn't want to do that while on a trip or along side the road. So, with that understanding you now have my permission ( Oh what a ...) to roam about the country semi rivet-less.

You responded before I could.  I have removed those rivets before without taking off the windshield and it didn't seem all that difficult.

and all you need to pop the pin is a toothpick...or half of one...
