Just installed Kawasaki's side spoiler set. Here are some pics of what they look like on the bike. :chugbeer:

Interesting.  Are they held on by just the two body screws?  It looks like there are lots of extra holes in them.

Yep, lots of questions:

* Are they effective in cold?
* How much protection and where?
* Do they feel secure?
* Where did you get them?
* How much did they cost?
* Why the extra holes?

etc...

Only available for the Gen 2 Connies.

Haven't had them out in the cold yet, so won't now what protection they offer. (Guessing thigh and maybe some midrift area)
There are only two mounting holes, which are the fairing bolts. The other circles you are seeing are the little rubber stoppers that space it from the body. They feel pretty secure, real test will be when I get it out for a ride.
They are a genuine Kawasaki accessory, they were available only in the European market until this year. Found them on the Kawi website under accessories for the Connie. (215WSC0004)  Called my local dealer and ordered them, took two days.
I believe that you guys can get them for $145 USD MSRP, I got mine for $160 CDN MSRP.  :o

Will post more info when I get her on the road. Don't like driving to work through the city, too many @$$es around.

C14PAINKILLER, would you remove one side and compare the difference in the wind movement to the side with the shield?

If anything, I would think these MIGHT reduce that little bit of wind that hits you in the side, under your elbows.

My thoughts as well. Won't make a difference around town, but the highway is where we want it most. Just like the Aero wings, small, but keeps the elements off your hands. Supposed to rain tomorrow, that'll be a good test for them.

Cheers

Do you guys ever go to Kawasaki's website? It is a great resourse.
These were listed on there in the spring when I bought my Concours.
You can also download a digital catalog of accessories for the Concours.
Also, dealers make about 40% on these parts so negotiate with them if you bought your bike from them.  I have found some online vendors who will knock 15% off, but different vendors handle different accessories so you have to search around.

Other things on Kawasaki.com is parts listings for bikes.  Install instructions for some accessories. Rebates and other offers on new bikes.  From time to time there are contests to enter, etc.

Well the rain had stopped earlier this morning, so no report on that. I noticed the wind is noticeably deflected around the knee area, basically where the bulk of the spoiler is located. At a buck twenty it is forcing the air flow more away from you, but seeing how these originally were for the European market that makes sense. Around here as in Canada where the legal limit is 60 mph or 75 mph in the US it probably won't make a big deal to most of us. I was only out for an hour in 20 C (68 F) temps and mild breeze, so not a thorough test. Hopefully this weekend being the Thanksgiving Day Weekend I'll be able to test it more. Will take one side of like suggested by Yellowrench to get a better idea. The airflow around the elbows comes from the mirrors, so maybe those Aero wings would help with that.

They look stable at the higher speeds as well.
