Frau Reno was a bloodthirsty political officer who had no qualms with ghosting anyone who did not tow the Party line. She could have stood with the worst in history and not shirked what she believed was her duty to Party. RIH
I finally understood what it meant to be an 'Enemy of the State'.
THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS..
finally made it's way to Netflix,
Watched, of all things...... the Lost in Space reboot on Netflix.
Now we will just take a moment while everyone laughs......
Yep, still laughing......
OK, so I watched it, with no expectations at all other than it would be terrible. Perhaps as bad as the original. It could not be worse because nothing was worse than that show..... But I gotta' admit, it was not awful. In fact, by the end of the first season (ten episodes I think), it was actually OK. Really.
Basically they kept the original names but that is about it- the entire concept of the series is completely different and actually has some substance, intelligence and is a little bit interesting to watch. Seriously.
Tried to watch Altered Carbon but just had to abandon that one- terrible IMO, and growing worse as the series progressed.
Also watched Arrival (movie), which I liked quite a bit. An unusual plot, even for SciFi. Also read the short story it is based on, named 'The Story of your Life', which was similar but considerably different than the movie made from it. But I liked both and as I said, the basic plot is unusual and somewhat interesting IMO.

Did the robot ever say "DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!"?

We're in the process of watching Lost In Space too. Like you Brian, I didn't expect much and I was pleasantly surprised when the show turned out to be quite good. My wife isn't a huge Sci-Fi but she's really enjoying this show.
Good writing and adequate acting along with a compelling story line earns a thumbs up from me.
The robot is bad ass! 'He' doesn't say much but he sure packs a wallop! You do not want this guy mad at you.
Check out Travelers on Netflix, good stuff too.

(When did a "season" get reduced from 30 to 26 to 24 to 22 to now just 10 episodes?)
I think about the same time the very best shows on 'TV' got a lot better, or at least so it seems. And honestly, I would much prefer 8 or 10 or 14 episodes per year of good quality programming than the old 25, 26, 28 episodes of [not as good quality] TV. Most of the one- off, designer shows that have been so very excellent are limited in the number of shows they produce per season, and often they do not coincide with an annual cycle but are either late in the next year or skip a calendar year altogether. Again, less delivery, and delivered more slowly but often far superior.

Oh, I agree that 10 good episodes are better than 24 not good. But what I really want are 24 good episodes instead of 10 good episodes before having to wait a year for more
