All I can say is, I am glad he did, because I am the lucky son-of-a-gun that bought it!
It is in pristine shape and the new set of Michelin PR2's really make it smooth. I have had two Goldwings and an ST-1300 (among others), but this Concours is by far the most powerful & fun of them all. I just hope I have sufficient will-power and self-control to keep it tame enough to avoid long conversations with LEO's...or worse.
I am also quite happy with all the great farkles and mods he spent so much time installing. The work is all first-rate and there are only a couple of things on my short list to consider.
One is some highway pegs. I've been in touch with the guys from Mick-o-Pegs and although they expressed interest earlier considering making them for the C-14, I haven't heard from them recently. So, I will most likely be looking for viable pegs that will mount on the Canyon Cage fairing guards.
The other is to decide whether or not to remove the Phil's wedges in an attempt to widen the handlebar grips a bit. My concern is that I will also lose an inch or so of rise if they do come out, and at this point, I'm not sure if giving that up is worth it. I am giving my body some time to adapt to see if these old muscles can relearn a new riding position so that money & time can be spent on other matters, like a drink holder & smartphone mounting system.
