Bernard, is that in the final drive or the front bevel box (that bolts to the side of the engine)?

Glad to hear that SiSF is still active and bruising egos 😁

Its in the front bevel case. 

There were 150 of these units made.  (I happen to have one in a 2003)  .

I think the biggest issue in this particular farkle production coming to an end was finding ZG1200 gears, whether NOS or used.

First you need to find a way to pickup the trigger position for each pair of coils.
Then you need an igniter to transform that to the switched 12v that gets sent to the coils and to perform the advance needed as the rpm rises.
Easiest would be to use an 80's igniter (like from a ZG1000) and make/modify your own ignition plate and sensor mounts.
The C14 stick coils could be fired by the C10 igniter.

There are probably off the shelf ignition systems out there but $$$$

for the 7th speed it is necessary to recover the pinions of the bevel torque before of ZG 1200 to mount them in the case of the ZG 1000 which it is necessary to slightly machine to pass the big pinion.

Unfortunately Steve doesn't make them any more and I'm not sure if he ever shared how to do the conversion.
Last I heard he was ill and had someone else doing the carb servicing & modifications, but then their shop burned down and nobody was doing C10 stuff.
Can someone who is a COG forum member check when he last posted there?
