Brake Light Modulator
« on: June 28, 2012, 12:06:20 AM »
Hi, new member just purchases my connie on Saturday and love it!  It's a 2008 and whoever had it before me really took good care of it, left the dealership and took it on a 566 mile ride with a friend of mine with no hiccups.  My friend has a VFR800 and he has a brake light modulator I really like, think he said his was a Wig Wag.  Wondering if you guys have any recommendations on them as far a manufacturer?
Whether you think you're wrong, or you think you're right......bacon.

What your friend has is probably a Back-Off Wig-Wag module. These are designed for bikes with 2 tail lights and the the wig wag feature allows the 2 lights to alternate back and forth when the brake is applied. Since the Concours has a single brake light, the wig-wag module isnt necessary. The same company makes several Back-Off models, I would recommend the XP for the Concours because of the LED's.

Another option, which is on my bike and catches the eye of drivers who are behind me when the brakes are applied:

Recommend buying directly from company (I suspect a mom and pop outfit); they back their product with great customer service.

Admore to the rescue!  Effective, non-annoying, relatively easy, more turn signals, bigger bike profile, and not super-expensive.
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

Hyperlights really work, and thier customer service is second to none.
Some years ago a friends coworker was rear ended at a traffic light, by a drunk, and lost his life. Hyperlights sold quite a few units that year.

I do like Hyperlights- except that they don't have a go-to-solid timeout nor a timeout for between short breaking to suppress blinking.  That is why I went for the Admore, instead.

I've got a set of Hyperlights 16-led pods stuck to the inside of the rear reflectors on my C14. Flash for 5 seconds and go solid. I transfer them from bike to bike, had them for close to 5 years and 3 bikes. Very bright, durable and worth every penny. YMMV.

You can set Hyperlites to go to solid lighting.  It has been a few years since I installed my 16 LED hyperlights on the license plate, so my memory may be a bit off but as I recall you cut a wire to have it flash 6-7 times (about 5 seconds) and then go solid.  That is how mine work.

Thanks for pointing this out Mac/Tex.  I have deleted my partially erroneous posting!
