Just saying Hi! Newbie to Forum
« on: June 24, 2012, 01:02:53 PM »
Been Lurking for a while looking for a C14 ever since last year's Ticket To Ride event.

Bought Don B's 2012 C14 last week and drove it home to KC area.

I have lot's of questions but will drill into the forum for my answers so I don't Regurgitate a beat to death topic like oil, tires, etc....

Fantastic bike and I have no clue what took me this long to move to this type of bike but happy I finally have.

Welcome!
Great choice on the bike. You won't be disapointed. After test driving one last year, I to wondered what took me so long to decide on a sport touring. Traded in a 07 Ultra Classic for the kawasaki and have had no regrets.
Lots of good info on here and the occasional group buys on some really great products.

Good luck with the bike, and ride safe.

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys..Appreciate it very much.
The way this bike is farkled out, I dont know what I could possibly want for..I say that in jest as Im the brunt of joke on other forums for buying anything under the sun for safety and comfort on my other bikes.

Speaking of Comfort, Don had a seat customized but for me it's too soft and has hot spots after about 80 miles. It might have worked fine for Don cuz he's kinda wirey and Im a little larger (240lbs). I've found on my other bikes that a firmer couch like on a Corbin, will offer me a lot longer duration in the seat. I've got a little over 1,000 miles in less than a week on the Connie to make this assessment. After Friday it will be 1,330.

I've seen Corbins options on seats for the Connie but have yet to find a thread on opinions..I'll keep searching because I want a full package on touring and the seats the only thing I need to fix. Don B set up a wonderful package otherwise that fits me and my riding style.

Welcome!  Good luck picking the right seat.  JimmyMac lives in the KC area and has a Corbin seat, maybe you could send him a PM to see about seeing if that will work for your backside.  I have a Sargent and live just southeast of the Lake of the Ozarks.  If you are down in my area you would be welcome to try my seat out to see if you like it.  I know I do and am a big guy also (6'2'' 250).

Oh, and post some pics or it didn't happen.   ;D

Checkout Baldwin motorbike saddles. Best seat I've sat on yet. rode 8 hrs. on it with no back pain or numbness.
