Just saw an ad in Rider mag. Hadn't heard of this. Might be interesting if you're in the area.
http://www.motorcycle.vtti.vt.edu/index.html
Importance: Motorcycle injuries and fatalities are on the rise in the United States, even though crash rates for other road users are decreasing. In the US, of approximately 42,000 fatalities on the roads annually, over 10% are motorcyclists. The motorcycle fatality rate has doubled in the last 10 years. We are conducting this study to try to understand factors that contribute to this relatively high crash rate, and to help find ways to lower the motorcycle crash rate.

I get nervous when I hear of any agency wanting to put 'devices' on my vehicles for any reason. Don't trust them, I doesn't.
