Tire
« on: May 28, 2012, 12:02:03 PM »
So i have a 08 none abs with the Michelin 2CT with about 3000 on them. I just seen that the tire and rim was mounted correctly but the guy i got the bike from put it on wrong so the tire and rim are going the wrong direction. I am going to turn this the right way but do you guys think this tire is going to come apart on me, the belts separating causing a blow out? do you think this messed up the break pads or rotter? What you all thinks? Thanks Lance

I don't know about tire failure but speedo runs off transmission VSS output.
I just put on a new set of PR3's and I still think the tread on the front is going backwards but it is correct according to the arrows.
I doubt 3000 miles on the tire running backwards would hurt it.

Running it backwards won't hurt the tire, but the tread pattern will be all wrong for rain. If rain is an issue for you, have it mounted right. Running any radial tire for a long time in one direction and reversing it will decrease the life of the tire, however.
