Spencers was a good small investment in improving the stock seat. I've ridden many a 300+ mile day and so far I have had no reason to want to replace it. The knees are another story.

Saddles and asses are funny things. I had heard such horrible things about the stock seat that before I even took delivery of my 2011, I ordered a leather Baldwin with the custom cut-down to accomodate my 5'-9" stance.

I used that saddle the full season last year, about 10k miles, but could never go more than 100 miles or so at a stretch without getting butt-sore.

This season I had Spenser reshape the stock seat which had been sitting completely unused in my closet, and I took a 400+ mile ride last Saturday and never felt the least bit bottom sore. Could've saved myself a bit of dough and a lot of soreness if I had gone the cheap route to begin with.

The Baldwin will probably be getting posted in the For Sale forum, if anyone is interested.
