Possibly.... ;)   Is there any other way to do maintenance work?  BTW, you know Kiwi Graham?  You guys have something in common although you are a bit more animated.

There's also been some discussion as to whether the nuts are actually loosening up, or if it's just that the copper gaskets seat and break in causing the nuts to need tightening.  I installed a new exhaust system with new gaskets using the Fuji lock nuts and still developed an exhaust leak after a couple hundred miles which required tightening the nuts.  If it's just a matter of the gaskets seating, then it might not be necessary to replace the standard nuts with lock nuts.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it at 3k miles.  Check them at your 7.5k service.  If you are limber, and don't have huge hands, and have the proper tools, it isn't that hard to tighten them w/o removing stuff.  Nothing against the locknuts, but they do not seem to be necessary.  As mentioned, they don't seem to be repeatedly coming loose.

Never had a problem with them coming loose. BUT, I'm ready for the 15000 miles service so I ordered the fuji nuts and will replace the stock ones at that time.

At 7500 miles, mine were very loose on the 08.   Not dangerously so, btu I should have checked them sooner.

ZG, I'll go with the head. If hit hard enough, I wont remember. The nuts a person can never forget.

I checked the outermost left hand side exhaust header nut (had that side off for an air filter check).  It was tight so I think the others are ok...  Living on the edge, I guess.  I may check the right side outermost nut in a few days but I'm sure that's tight as well.
