Display Mileage Question
« on: February 19, 2012, 03:29:28 PM »
Took a 120 miles ride today with a group of friends and found myself using my new display mod button to toggle thru the screens. However, I noticed the range display would vary on the miles, but it always displayed a (+) after the mileage.  For example:
RANGE
160(+)
I never noticed the plus sign before, but honestly I didnt scroll thru the displays that often. I am guessing that perhaps being unplugged during the mod reset some internal counter and until I put some more miles on it it needs to sort of recalibrate itself...... thoughts? Any one else notice this?

Pg 36 of owners manual:
When the fuel tank is full, (6 segments) in the fuel gauge are displayed and then , (+) is added to the numerical value of the cruising range.
The range display will vary every time you move the throttle, less when you increase speed and more when you let off of it. A good way to see who much fuel you have left is while holding the throttle steady, push the button to display CURRENT MPG, then push to display RANGE, If you are getting 45 MPG and have a range of 90 miles than you have about 2 gallons left. But you must hold the throttle steady when your doing this.

Just think of the "+" as meaning "It is too early to tell, and too many factors that can affect your range right now to give you a good estimate".
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc
