So do you need specific licenses or permits to fish like that?  Just curious.  Or is it you pays your money, you fish?

I reckon I shoulda looked!!  I would assume there will be some frames filled?  Both of my Grandpas passed when I was really young, the only pic I have with one of my gramps is wearing a pair of fishing boots up to my waste and a big ol grin on his face ;D

Passport, Visa "not the credit card", yellow fever shot, at least 2 high end rods and reels "1 spare", allot of hardcore jungle lures and various other tackle, and spending aprox 6k on just the fishing trip in itself per person "not including airfare".........then you can fish. ;)   These trips are not cheap once you pay for all your gear and the actual trip, but the results could be priceless.

So are all the fish in the pics edible? Do they get to keep em, and bring em home, eat them there, catch and release? Enquiring minds want to know.   8)

Some are more than edible, and no you can't bring a fish home with you. All is catch and release, except for piranha and very small cats which are used for bait. The natives at the camp would catch the yummy fish while everyone was out for the day, they even got a taper for them one day "pic below". My son said the fresh fish was incredible, and they had beans and rice with their meals. There was a generator at camp, so cold beer, pop and water was always ready for them.

Sounds like a REALLY great time! How were the bugs and such?

That's not a tapir, looks like some kinda peccary/javelina but it's definitely not a tapir.

wow that is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Of course now as a soon to be new Grand Pa (due any day now) that leaves a pretty high mark to aim for.   ;) I guess a man's gotta have goals.

No bugs whatsoever, this was the only action for about 3 minutes every night and then they were gone. Temps were in the 80's during the day, and got down to high 60's at night....very comfortable my son said.
