Tankbag
« on: January 23, 2012, 01:04:43 PM »
So I am thinking about taking the glovebox off of my 08 and just replacing it with a tankbag. Has anyone else done this before?

I doubt it. Too easy to just add a tankbag without destroying the bike.

It’s EASY to take off...I would rather take it off then put a bag over it.

Are you looking to replace it with the blank like the 10+?

I wouldn't take it off, just put the bag over it, that way you can still put things in the glovebox. I use a small magnetic tankbag which lets me use both, the tankbag sits behind the glovebox and I can still get into it without removing the bag.

I use the Chase Harper 650 and it works/looks fine with the box in place:

Here is the Firstgear bag I use. It works perfectly together with the box.

Why on earth would you want to remove the glove box?  That glove box is one of the nice features on '08 and '09 bikes that the owners of newer bikes wish they had.

I use Bags Connection Trial quick-lock bag. No issues with the glove box.
