Congrats on the new scooter.

And as far as the forum, you have picked the best.  I have only been here approx. 1 year, but it has put me a decade ahead about learning about my C-14.  There are a lot of smart people here that don't mind sharing their knowledge ;)

I've spent a lot of time going through past posts as well as searching about specifics and agree that there's a lot of knowledge floating around.

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks Jere. Hows this for good fortune huh? The weekend I buy the thing the weather is as nice as I can remember it ever being in late November and this coming weekend a repeat! I'm traveling on Saturday but Sunday she's coming out again.

What luck!

I heard back from the BMW dealer. Seems I fried the Final Drive on my 1300GT in just under 17k so I am awarded a brand new factory replacement. One thing I don't miss is that noisy a$$ transmission!

And don't get me started on the maintenance costs! Here in Jersey I can pay $800.00 for an interval service that does not include anything like valve adjustments. I was in a rush once and decided than rather take it to my shop and change it as I usually do, I'd let the dealer sell me and mount a rear tire for a trip I was taking. Not only did it have a slow leak but it cost me Two... wait for it... hundred and forty eight dollars! And I brought them just the rear wheel  :o

I got kissed alright. That was the tire that brought me into the bowels of upper Nova Scotia where it was soon lavished in a silky smooth coating of the most expensive final drive gear oil on the market  ;D

Welcome to the worlds best depository of truth, half-truths, downright lies and of course, good folks!

As to the fastest color.................... we all know , although some may not tell, BLACK is the fastest color! (Spaz et.al have settled the question).

Your use of FNG seems to mean that you took advantage of the American/Asian war games back in the '60's/70's (the one we got second place in)!
Time for us Boomers to have some fun!
