Know anyone with a shoulder replacement?

And more specifically, can you still ride a motorcycle afterwards?

I'm 39, I shouldn't have to be asking about joint replacements.

U,
I personally don't know anyone who has had a replacement, but it is not a widely done procedure, yet.
I do have personal experience in repair surgery. Unfrotunatly, I have had to have my rt. shouilder repaired via torn rotator and fractured clavical. Not once, but twice. I don't know how a shoulder joint replacement will be much of a benifit if the rotator is the cause of the problem.
If bone spurs are the problem, then yes a new joint might be in order, but the shoulder is a very diff. joint then the knee or hip.
I  will tell you this much, the shoulder surgery was the worst of the surgeries I have had in my life. Give me the knee repairs anyday over the shoulder. Re-hab is / was terrible for me.
But to answer your question, It never stopped me from riding, I did have the work done in the Winter, so by the time I got better, it was riding season.
So if it is going to be done, I would make it a Winter time thing, a slower re-hab with no stress to get back to riding.
Good luck with your decision.
Ride safe all, and please, ATGATT.
Greg

My problems are all bone and cartilage damage.  The doc is deciding whether to put it back together one more time or just replace it now.  The joint replacement isn't an if, it's a when.
