Oil filter with Spoofak

I went to get a Fram TG7317 oil filter. That's the one I used last year, so I figured I'd stick with that, but they were out of that one.
So I got the upgraded one, XG7317. The box says it is designed for synthetic oil and I use dino.
Think it's fine and just use it anyway?
The TG is on Dan's list, but the XG is not.

I don't see why it won't work. I think the XG stands for extended guard supposedly. It probably has a fancier metal cover with the grip material that aids in turning it. I think you'll be fine. Mark

I hope not. That would be lame. I just wanted to know if it was as good of a filter for dino.

It will be fine; only difference is that filter has higher filtration standards to enable it to stay on the engine longer just as the synthetic oil is designed to stay in the engine longer. Fram "HAD" some issues with some of their filters LONG ago; if anyone thinks that they are a substandard filter still today for that reason their heads have been buried in the ground far too long.

BTW I don't know if they still do a filter with the teflon additive now that was bad news too....

Heh.  I started a reply about that, but killed it when I didn't see anything on Fram's website about any teflon additives.

I'd stay away from their "High Mileage" filters, though, as their site states the following:
