Backrest feedback? (ProjektD AeroForm)
« on: April 01, 2015, 09:41:36 AM »
Hello All,

I'm still looking for a backrest that suits my needs. I picked one up from a gentleman here last summer but it sits WAY back when installed and really offers no support to the passenger.

So, I'm investigating other options. One that was recommended is the ProjektD AeorForm backrest which comes with a custom aluminum luggage mount. For the price, it looks pretty good but I wonder if anyone here owns it and can give some feedback.

Are there other, better options out there? My primary goal is to make my wife feel secure on the back. She's used to (and really liked) my old cruiser (Honda VTX1300R) but I couldn't say no to the performance of the Concours14 (LOVE IT!). Anyway, now she doesn't feel safe and I need to remedy that.

Any helpful hints much appreciated.

Scott

I picked up a used (not sure of the brand) rack & rest from a user on another forum.  It works great!  On and off easily and offers my daughter the security she wanted.  Maybe someone can ID this rest.

GIVI E55 top case with rack. The rack has 2 steel support arms that are mounted to the bike and when the top case is on and wife is leaning back, there is no movement in that rack or top case...VERY solid! She feels very comfortable back there. The back pad for the top case sucks but I had a local seat builder cut and shape the foam for her and she loves it now!
