Can Am Spyder Riding Pants
« on: September 28, 2011, 09:41:26 PM »
I bought a set of these riding pants on eBay to use as over-pants and I got them today. I like them a lot so far and the price was very good so I thought I'd pass this along to y'all.  This is a non current model and are made by BRP, the SkiDoo and CanAm folks.  They are supposedly waterproof and breathable via an internal membrane. It is pretty basic but with the features I was looking for. Full length side zippers, long inseam. It has thigh vents that stay open, two front pockets that look to be waterproof and a back pocket. Side velcro waist adjusters with a partial elastic waist with a ratcheting slide type belt buckle (like on Nolan helmets).  There is no armor and just a little pocket in the  lining for possible small knee pads. It fits nice and folds up small. (It came in a 15x11x3 UPS box). I sat around the house in it and it seemed to breath pretty well.  I did pretty well on the auction and got them delivered for a total of $45.  The inseam was listed as 33" and so I was a little worried because I wear a 33-34 inseam but I measured them up and the inseam is  true 35". I sit on the bike or chair and the hems rest on the top edge of my boot sole and with boots on, don't drag the ground.  I wear 36x34 jeans that are a little loose in the waist and a little long. These XL's fit good. Anyway here are some pictures. Just search on Can Am pants to see what's available.  No affiliation, just happy so far. I tried the a couple of different pants so far and for me these are keepers. Will have to see how they handle rain. The zippers are YYK but there are no real storm flaps to speak of.

You missed the memo! You can't wear spyder pants whilst riding a concours! Kipass will see that as an insult and shut down immediately. ;)

You know, I sat on the bike in the garage but I didn't have the fob with me. I'll run out there now and see what happens. Thanks for the heads up!
