Lots of good advice already, and after living in Wyoming for lots of years (years ago), I know that ND winters can get down to the -60F range. Weird / unexpected things seem to happen when temps get that low, especially to plastic.
One morning after a night at -40F, we jumped in my truck, shut the doors, and shattered the plastic rings on the door latch pins (both doors). I then put the manual transfer case in neutral, and broke the rubber boot around the shifter. Another time, the door lever broke on my RX-7 after a -40F night. While fixing it, the drivers door window shattered. Ahh, the
good old days. I really don't miss that place.

I would recommend that after a cold night / day / week / month, don't even touch the bike until after it warms up to a reasonable temperature, gradually, on it's own.
