nice if your made of money. I ride a schwinn hybrid that I bought in the 80's I keep it lubed and tires and brakes on it. cost me $275 25 years ago. I was just in a local bike shop saturday and looked at the tag on a Trek Carbon fiber model and nearly had the Heart Attack that I was trying to avoid by riding a bike.

I was riding this bike a few weeks ago in Boulder. My brother-in-law owns an ad agency that does work for New Belgium Brewery. His company contracts to have these bikes made and he gets to keep some of them, he has about 20 cruisers.

I'm a mountain/trail biker myself.

Raleigh mountain bike.  Over ten years old.  Keep rebuilding it with new rims, seats, etc....

I got back into bikes about 5 years ago, and have put more miles on my bicycles in the past few years than my Concours.

My beater/camping/rain bike is an Iron Horse Transit, but I added a disc fork in the front with a hydraulic disc brake. A 50T single up front, cyclocross tires etc.

Then I built a nicer flat bar road bike, started with a new Raleigh Cadent 5.0 frame from eBay. It has a SRAM drivetrain and Shimano flat bar 10spd shifters, and Ultegra derailleur. Mavic Aksium wheelset with ultra gatorskins.

I spent too much money building up the Raleigh, but I did end up with exactly  what I wanted.

If the weather is good I ride this. It's a Felt FC. It keeps me lean and mean. Nothing like a bicycle ride to improve your mental and physical health.

I got a $200 Schwinn hybrid on clearance for $60 this past spring.  This summer has not been good for riding until today.......high of 82! Twenty-five degree difference from yesterday.  It really is a great way to wind down and keep that waistline in check!
