The whole area there is aimed at separating tourists from their (usually American) money, but in a nice way. It's a nice place just to walk around. There's a big tourist info office at the top of the stairs on the city side of the harbor walk, across from the Empress Hotel. I've been up there maybe 30 times, usually by friends' sailboats or for races, and usually I just find some seedy bar and get (or stay) drunk. There are several within walking distance of the Inner Harbor. The Provincial Museum across from the Parliament Building is pretty good, but you need a full day, a couple of hours isn't enough. The Empress Hotel is the main tourist attraction, but I've never been in there, too classy for me. I've been asked to leave both the downstairs bar and the Stickey Wicket in the Strathcona Hotel. There's a wax museum near where the Coho docks. Also they have an underwater thing where you can walk through some kind of submerged glass room and look at the dead fish in the harbor, never went into it. The Buchart Gardens are nice if you like plants, but a little out of town, and "touristy". Actually the whole place is touristy. If you're hungry, the Cherry Bank Hotel is good place for ribs (or it was 20 years ago). I like Milo's Greek Restaurant, but I haven't been there for a few years, they usually have semi-attractive belly dancers during dinner. (DON'T order a round of ouzo shooters for the whole crew, it'll cost you $240. DAMHIK.) If you are into "English Tea" you might check out the James Bay Tea Room, a few blocks walk from the inner harbor area, they do a nice little English lunch. There's a huge city park a few blocks over towards the water, more interesting plants, and they have a cricket pitch, might be a match going on.
