I picked up the Connie last Saturday. After riding all day Saturday and Sunday (gotta love November in the NorthEast?) it was time to start making it mine. I immediately added two fused Gerbing connectors, one in the front and one at the back. I also put a Gerbing lead together for my battery charger so I could keep it maintained this winter.
That being done, it was time to dust off the plastic and get busy buyin! I bought Phil's Style B luggage rack with the monokey mounts, a Givi V46 in matte black with a backrest, Tourtech titanium GPS mount, a powered SW moto mounting ring for my Engage XL tank bag, and the snake shin tank pad set. Everything arrived tonight excep for the Givi cast and the tank pads which I was notified were on back order.
The rack is mounted, the power ring is mounted and the GPS mount is in place. I'm ready for Sunday!
I had three 1150RT's where I had all my electronics mounted in the bike and tucked under the fairing. When I moved to the GT I decided that everything is going into the tank bag!
In my tank bag have a Centech fuse panel, an Escort radar detector my Autocom AVI pro, Kenwood 3101 GMRS, and my Zumo 550 with xm all fed from the tank bag. Now it takes less than 2 minutes to pull all electronics off my bike! and it gets stuffed into a side case. The Kenwood and PTT button, zumo and the GXM30 puck are mounted outside the bag. Between heavy duty Velcro, a ram mount, and a hex bolt it all gets put inside the bag and the bag can be removed by pulling a single pin. Easy as pie.
