Chicago Man Injured on Interstate 57
8/9/11 @ 9:48:33

A 34-year-old Chicago man received major injuries in a Jefferson County wreck Monday.  Illinois State Police report that Maurice A. Jones was travelling northbound on Interstate 57 on his motorcycle.  He was wearing a mask because of the rain.  According to state police, the wind blew the mask over his eyes.  Jones tried to brake and lost control.  He was not wearing a helmet.  Jones was initially taken to Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon and later flown to St. Louis University Hospital.  Jones was cited for violation of classification, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and riding without insurance.  The wreck occurred at 11:30 AM near mile marker 104.

I see the mask thing often in my trips back to the hood. The mask ain't for the rain. In my old hood
the "you know who's'" are wearing em on a 90 deg day. This seemed to get popular when the city put the CCTV cams on street poles.

Actually a guy named Jim White, a nighttime host on KMOX radio said that decades ago. Popular bumper sticker around here.
