Not to be outdone, in Canada we have one fellow presumably killing someone in Montreal and sending somewhat fermented body parts to a couple of political party headquarters in Ottawa. The Conservatives got a foot, the Liberals a hand. I think in both cases other body parts might have been more appropriate. Canada Post comes through.

It is a sad world that we are living in.
In alot of cases people avoid the signs until it's too late, and others who want their 15 minutes of shame.
sad news indeed, saw it on the TV
Why I carry....we are not safe anywhere.
"There are now a quarter of a billion Americans. A quarter of a billion. One percent is 2 1/2 million people. One tenth of one percent is 250,000 people. One thousandth of one percent is 2,500 people. With those numbers our society cannot help but be a bunch of alternate universes; every behavior, every statistical anomaly, should show up in some one of those one-thousandth-of-one-percent-segments. Why should we be shocked when we see aberrant behavior in the news? The probability of any one person doing that is extremely low, but the probability of some one doing it is extremely high. And why should we take that behavior and try to generalize it to all of society? Talk about risk factors. A one-thousandth-of-one-percent chance that something bad will happen seems miniscule--until you realize that 2,500 real persons will be affected. One of those could be you. Or worse, me. But we should not be surprised."

That quote was from a few years ago. Figure now there are more people than that, so more whackos. Fifty states means there are more than 50 people like this in each state, so don't be surprised of there's one living or working right next to you. I also "carry " quote often, but if you read the updated reports on this incident, the one guy in the cafe who made a difference was the guy who started smacking the shooter with a bar stool. He survived and seemingly stopped the shooting. Details are still being gathered. The moral here? FIGHT BACK with whatever you have. Hiding under the tables won't save you. And of course now Seattle politicians are talking about passing some more feel-good "gun laws". All of this is being reported locally as "gun violence", not simply "violence", once again blaming the machines and not the person.
Does everyone need to drive? Does anyone need to drink? Does everyone need to wear a seatbelt (literally)?
Question, what type of city is Seattle? I live just to the West in Port Orchard so I know the answer BTW. What are the policies that bolster and embolden these types of totally sensless actions?
RIP and prayers to all affected.
Have ya heard the latest BS? The talk is they want to change one word in the permit law. They want to change it to read "May" issue, not "Shall" issue. They are saying if this had been in place he would have been carrying illegaly, but he still could have bought the weapon. Absolute baloney, like killing people is not a crime?
Where is this guys family? I would hazard a guess they had no idea he was this destructive. One more bit of evidence that it takes a family to raise a child, not a village. Need more evidence? Look at NYC or Chicago, lots of great bad examples to choose from.
Again, to all who suffered, may the powers that be provide a glimpse of hope, without hope we shall have no reason to dream, without dreams we have nothing but repitition, with repitition comes boredom, and with boredom comes depression, with depression comes anger, and much bad comes from angry people. Make someone smile today, helping others fight boredom feels good
