Actually, at one time, paying dues 'there' was paying dues 'here'. But then 'here' and 'there' became two separate places, and the 'there' created another 'here'. But their 'here' had a very different personality right from the start.

Funny thing is that a lot of 'them' are 'here' but only as guests and not logged in. :-)

Forums have a 'personality' unto themselves.  The UK has a different feel than ours.  I like both.  The Indian forum I'm on is also different.
