Car taps bike, rider jumps off, bike falls down and get's hurt..   And they wouldn't bother with investigating it?  Car is at fault by hitting someone in the rear or am I missing something?

And this is why the AMA is making sure we are "recognized" by autonomous vehicles.  :)

The second story in the link is no fault of the self driving car, maybe, but rather a failure to yield by the other vehicle.
Shouldn't the self-driving car recognize the failure to yield and compensate? 

Makes my brane hirt.
