I put grip tape on mine, the stuff that goes on the steps of heavy equipment. I have a hard time forgetting to shut it off and have run the battery down, so it's in my best interest to use it to get in the bags to stow things/get things out. Plus, my fob stays zipped up in my pocket.

I'm pretty sure mine has only been out once when I first got it in 2011. I always use the key in the fob for gas and bags.
