Based on mc tire manufacturers secretive mthods of the compounds used and layering and curing of them, I tend to have the opinion that they would not compromise the bonding process along the center of a tire, in that fashion, and until I can find a manufacturer that states this is a real fact, I just chalk it up to internet lore.

I've seen it on my Michelins and wondered WTF.
