Yes I agree. Max's idea was also good (jacket pocket) but not for me, as I sometimes lock my jacket to the bike when all the bags are full and I want to hike a bit without my gear. With my luck I'd forget to remove the fob from my jacket so it's kept in the deepest pocket of my jeans.

OK I will admit that occasionally (very rarely) I lock the jacket to the bike in the Summer if I have to go walking or something.... if I can't fit it in the bag (I also have a spare bag key on my keyring).  The few times I have done that, I did remove the fob from the inner/sealed jacket pocket and took it with me.

Ok, so you guys would leave the fob in the "glove box" and take that big stove knob with you when you walk away from the bike? Or, are you saying you just leave them both and hope no joy rider just jumps on and starts it up and rides off?

I'd rather leave the fob in my jacket pocket and leave the stove knob in the bike. Just sayin'.

No, I don't leave the FOB on the bike (except sometimes in the garage) since the bike can be started by anyone.  I keep the FOB in my zipped-up riding pants pocket.  I keep it on a lanyard looped through my belt-loop.

When I get onto the bike, I put the FOB in the "glove box" in front, as my garage door and gate remote is attached to it. As soon as I park the bike elsewhere, glove box is opened, and fob & remote goes into pant's pocket, and the key stays in ignition.

Same routine for going home, except that when the bike is parked in the garage, the FOB & remote goes onto key holder in dining room. Last thing you want is for some ass to break into your garage, and have FOB and remote for easy exit with your beloved wheels...

As much trouble as some c14 owners seem to have with kipass I'm not too worried about some dickhead attempting to steal a kawasaki.

My fob is on a chain that's hooked to my belt loop.  Physically impossible to lose it.  I've lost my memory, but not the fob.  RESPECT THE FOB!

I'd be interested to see this.  It would work some of the time for me.  Sometimes, I wear leather (whenever it's cool enough and I can get away with it), so then I don't have a belt.  But do like the idea.

Just for the heck of it I stored my FOB on my C14 all winter and the FOB didn't go dead.  So that inconclusively proves that the bike is not pinging the FOB when the bike is OFF.

Well that makes the scenario at the BMW dealer even more suspect. Maybe they just never changed the fob battery. Sales guy was cussing the KiPass and fob. At least he found out how to start it passively.

Thanks for the help today. SO nice to have multiple fobs to rely on if I ever need them. Good to see you. Wish I could have seen ole Nomar in action.

My pleasure!  Next time you need tires just bring them down and you can experience it first-hand!   ;)
