Break In

At what point did you start to notice or get the feeling that your C14 had started to feel broke in? I am guessing 20k miles.

I swear my 08 is just braking in at 38,000 miles. Now that I'm selling it, it's running smoother than ever.

I wonder if it's trying to tell me something :)

I have been toying with getting a new 2013 and trading in my 08.  The biggest problem I have is that other than getting ABS and a 200 dollar a month payment, I don't think too much will change and I know how this bike seems to just run and run.  No problems of note and tearing into it for maintenance and things like that make this bike more attractive to keep.  I have been on my way to test drive the 13 twice now and my old bike has talked me out of it twice.  I actually prefer the "lines" of the 1st Gen. bike and while I really wish it had ABS I have never had an ABS bike either so perhaps Ignorance is bliss.

I have 30k on mine and I'll probably drive it forever.

I have close to 60,000 miles on my '09, and it gets better gas mileage the older it gets, and I'm not riding it like MaryJane Tinkle Pants. So, I guess it's like a fine wine and will keep getting better. Zero problems so far.

There are *considerable*  positive changes from a gen1 to gen2.  Plus it would be brand-new clean, perfect paint/plastics, new warranty, eligible for 9 years of warranty.  Chance for a different color (could be positive or negative, depending).  But is all that worth buying a replacement C14?  Perhaps, perhaps not.  Depends on the condition of your 08, and how much you value $ (plus your insurance and taxes will go up again).

The gauntlet has been thrown down.  I'll see what I can find but it may have been lost in the crash...

It's gone.  I can't find it.   I'm going to start a new thread on that subject.

My '08 has more changes compared with any '08, than a '15. At 60k miles it's a peach and can't see myself departing from 11000 EUR/USD just to have the latest, and with linked brakes
But then a colleague, who can't keep up with a 600, just replaced his Panigale S with a Panigale R. So...  ::)
