I have been toying with getting a new 2013 and trading in my 08. The biggest problem I have is that other than getting ABS and a 200 dollar a month payment, I don't think too much will change and I know how this bike seems to just run and run.
There are *considerable* positive changes from a gen1 to gen2. Plus it would be brand-new clean, perfect paint/plastics, new warranty, eligible for 9 years of warranty. Chance for a different color (could be positive or negative, depending). But is all that worth buying a replacement C14? Perhaps, perhaps not. Depends on the condition of your 08, and how much you value $ (plus your insurance and taxes will go up again).
