Modified License Plate Location

I removed the OEM rear fender to try to clean up the looks of the rear end a bit. I don't really ride in wet weather at all so I was just after a cleaner look. I bought my C14 with a lot of Farkles already installed including the Givi V46 rear truck that has a really nice bracket which I used to mount the license plate. Here is the end result. I am winging it as far as the plate light goes. If I get a fix it ticket I will deal with it then, anyhow I think it came out pretty decent looking and it only cost me $1.46 at ACE for the mounting hardware.

Ah yes, must have a light. I've seen many a custom HD with a curved plate on the side rotated 90 degrees and no light. Compared to those guys yours looks completely OEM.

in FL if its lit and visiable 50 ft away its legit no matter what bracket you use.  man that looks nice right there!

It looks nice, but I can only imagine how much more road grime your going to get on the back. I know that stock rear fender isnt much, but I think it does help keep some grime off .

hen I bobbed my rear fender on COGZilla C10, it was after inspection. when I brought it in the following year, the kid blew me a line of $#!+ about not having a light, and tried to sell me 2 small incandescents in a similar format for $40, and wanted another $60 for the install.... I told him to pizz up a rope, left and went to my work site, 1 mile down the road, pulled off the red lens on the tail light and drilled 5 x 1/2" diamter holes in the bottom, and slapped a piece of clear box tap over it inside... I was back there 25 minuts later, and he said he couldn't see the light on the plate.... I told him to kneal down by the plate, tossed a pair of overalls over his head and asked " can you see it now??? jerk....


I got my sticker.

I'll be sending off for those led lights now, they didn't have these back in 2006....

may I ask what's that bracket thingy left and right, between the OEM plate and the adapter plate for the topcase? And yeap, that number plate up there looks nicer, but I wonder about the dirt in the back of the bike...

The previous owner had those acrylic spacers made so that the Givi case and the Corbin smuggler don't rub together.

Great idea to have the smuggler and a top case work together without having to move the topcase way out back (as most seem far enough back already)...
....but...acrylic? I thought it was aluminum..I know the cases are plastic, as are the oem support rails, but I thought the main purpose of the
Givi SR410 steel support arms were to beef things up a bit (but yeah, they are also great for mounting stuff), not sure how the acrylic helps
with that unless it's just a cosmetic cover over some steel bolts and spacers to actually hold the weight?

They are thru bolted and really strong the brackets have no movement at all.
They are Michelin 2CT
