Is anyone out there riding with the bars at stock height and using a custom seat like the Baldwin or Corbin? I started stock and then added risers, then a seat, then risers with pullback, then windscreen(s) (currently using the CalSci Large/Wide windscreen). I'm going to be ordering a Baldwin GT seat within the next week or so because the "custom" seat I have from Bill Mayer Saddles isn't doing it for me and I've been hearing really good things from the guys using the Baldwin. This isn't a seat or windscreen debate but I mention them because they are part of my "setup" question.
The reason I'm asking is that I get buffeting no matter what windscreen I use and was wondering if it has to do with the fact that I am now sitting much taller than stock? I hated the stock feel...the seat was horrible so I started making changes. I'm wondering if riding with the bars at stock height with a custom seat (Baldwin GT) would still be comfortable while bringing me "forward" and down some, allowing the wind from the windscreen to go over me and reduce the buffeting.
My concern is that the custom seat is designed to be used sitting in a more "upright" position. Is that a fair assumption?
I know I can pull the risers and try it but thought I'd ask before changing anything to see if anyone has experience with this issue...
Anyone??
If you ever get to Austin, your welcome to try my CB screen.
Sounds like you are trying to create a Triumph Trophy to me.
Wouldn't that mean that while his legs are 5" longer, your torsos are the same?
Sorry Jamie, there's the MRA Touring screen and the MRA X-Screen Touring screen...which one do you have?
I have a Corbin seat with risers and I also had a good bit of buffering and that is with a scorpion 1200,I just put on a cee bailey's ultra touring windshield.i tried it out yesterday at 80mph with it up all the way no wind sound in the helmet so I had to turn down the music to loud now and even at halfway.with the shield up all the way no buffering and a world of difference, still get some airflow but not getting g beat up from the wind.
