2014 Paint Colours
« on: September 25, 2015, 05:07:52 PM »
I'm still looking for a C14, and I see the 2014's with paint classified as metallic spark black.

Did they offer the 2014 in two blacks, one metallic spark and another model in gloss black?

I can't find any info on this?

thanks all

In the US there were two colors for 2014:

1) Metallic Spark Black
2) New Candy Cardinal Red

The black is a complex color.  Under some lighting conditions it looks to be plain gloss black.  Under other conditions it has reflective particles under the surface.  Rarely does this show up in photos.

There are two blacks, but not in the same year.  In the US, black (of the earlier variety or later variety) is offered most years in addition to a single non-black color.

Any of the tri-stage colors are complex. Even Kawasaki calls them "Factory Variance Colors". This means that even if you order a new plastic panel from Kawasaki, it is not guaranteed to match your bike 100%. Not really an issue with the single stage colors (like the old lime greens), but any of the pearl paints...they can be different. I've seen two identical new Kawasaki bikes side by side before that were slightly different shades/colors.

There are two blacks, but not in the same year.  In the US, black (of the earlier variety or later variety) is offered every year in addition to a single non-black color.

Not every year Max. There were no black C14's in both 2008 and 2010. Not sure about others years....there may have been other single-color offering years.

Thanks for the info, I corrected my posting.  I think for the USA it probably was only the first year of each generation, like you said (according to the research I just did, which is far from exhaustive).  Although one source shows "Metallic Diablo Black" for the 2008 non-USA color for ABS model.

LOL ... I know what we need, a Connie that incorporates every color scheme possible then we won't have to "debate" the issue any longer , then we can all "get along". We can spend our "newly spare time" trying to defend our "UGLY" bikes as the other riders of other bikes make fun of us :rotflmao:!

I kinda like the 10+ style but they ran out of the fast paint after the 08 models.
