If I am following this correctly, those threads would have been about the pre- purchase discussion of a new 2015 C-14..... ? If so, you are right in that they had no great value to the content as I remember.
As I said, this is a private forum and the owner and / or his agents (that would be you Jim) can do as they please. But I would like to make an observation if I may: it is a fine line between 'editing, fixing, cleaning up, and so forth' and censorship. Also, I think the idea of censorship can be as bad or worse than censorship itself. In the past, you (and I mean you personally Jim) have done an outstanding job, IMO, of quieting down posts through editing while leaving the intent and mood of the poster pretty much intact as well as leaving the thread alone (by which I mean in place, not [not edited]).
I am sure it is easier to just delete things than it is to edit them. But the easy way is often not the best way and believe me, at least some of us have noticed your effort and success in the past with this fine line and appreciated it. Certainly it is not my place to suggest anything for anyone else that makes more work but in this particular case I will say that the older way was the better way IMO, and both the forum and you were better for having done it that way.
Whichever way you go forward, thanks for your past efforts.
Sincerely and with the greatest respect,
Brian
As a general rule, thread removals are not something I subscribe to. In this case, an exception was made. So to answer your first question, both delete threads were removed. To answer the second question, this is not a new policy on my part or the beginning of 1984.
I looked at both threads. It would have been difficult to clean them up and have them still make sense and quite frankly I was in no mood for it.
