Scala G9 Mod
« on: July 28, 2013, 02:14:13 PM »
I wanted better sounding speakers for my Scala G9.
I found an individual on the www that can modify the G9 to accept ear bud style head phones.
The mod is done to the mounting bracket only, not to the radio portion of the Scala.
I also had the original speakers modified so if I wanted to, I can remount them back in the helmet.

There is a uTube video ("Scala G9 mod") on a similar mod that sort of explaines what the mod does.
I have no affiliation to the person in the video or the unknown person who did his mod.
I'm just passing on the info for viewing.

Website? I had a similar deal done to my G4, but yours is MUCH cleaner, and one of my solder jobs has bitten it. Very interested!

The G9 has a port to plug in an i-pod or other device, audio in. It can be changed to audio out for headsets. Instructions are on youtube. I personally just replaced my speakers with Koss speakers and it works great. Only a 15 minute job to replace speakers, and it sound really good.
