Rhino,
If I'm not mistaken you just cannot salvage any parts on the ECU and the FOB just because that they are being format/program dedicated for a particular bike only

All you need is another Kipass ECU and at least one matching FOB....new or used, it doesn't matter. I've seen them on Ebay from wrecked bikes. If you buy a new one, it comes with a FOB (or two) anyway. A used KiPass ECU is fine too, as long as it comes with a FOB that is registered to it.

I did just check, and it looks like the UK spec bikes do have a different KiPass ECU from the North American bikes.

I could install a new KiPass ECU (with a matched/coded FOB) in about 10 minutes. It's no big deal, but you do need the parts to do it.

The UK kit is 870 GBP online. US kit is a little under $700 USD if I recall correctly.

PS: I don't think I'd try installing a North American KiPass ECU in a UK bike...unless you got one for free to try. The UK bikes also have different FI ECU's, and the NA KiPass ECU might not allow it to register the UK FI ECU. Just thinking out loud of course...but I'd bet that the regional KiPass ECU's are coded to only work with their corresponding regional FI ECU's.

Cheers,
