Has anyone beat this ET ???

I use the '06 ZX14 44 TB's along with '06 ZX14 injectors that squirt a bit more, velocity stacks, no flies or cats and a Speedohealer V4 to defeat the speed limiter on my "08 C14 ABS. Also use JE 9.5 CR forged turbo pistons, HD valve and clutch springs to go with the Garrett 27 turbo, 2 stage boost controller, water/methanol injection, Pingel elect. shifter and dual GP shorty slash cut exhaust. Chris Jones tuned the HP (238) down a bit to make the bike streetable. When drag racing, the stock wheelbase makes it extremely hard to keep the front wheel down (even with a front strap) under max acceleration. I have a re-valved shock, but it needs more than that. It's lowered front and rear with a Catalyst step seat. 9.92 et @ 144 mph in 1/4 mile. I know it is capable of more, if one can keep the front wheel down. Lew

I tried to buy some 44mm  throttle body's off e bay but he wanted more $ than I wanted to spend, I'm glad I didn't , with the changes I've already made the front end comes up high enough for this old man :D just yesterday with the KTRAC off the front end came up 1 foot in my 1-2 shift that's plenty 8) and after 6 grand the front get's REAL light sometimes wiggles and I'm still going straight . I still hope to get to the drags with You and Lee to get a time  :grouphug:
If I can break into the 10's I'll be overjoyed.
My 2.5 Merc outboard drag boat is in the 11's in lake racer trim .

Doesn't seem that quick for a turbo bike.

That was my thought too, but as he says, he can't keep the front wheel down.  So that will severely limit his acceleration.

on the flip side that is stupid quick for a heavy behemoth being power robbed by a shaft drive (compared to chain drive) and complete with a huge fairing and windshield  ;D

:hail:I'm in awe but I have to ask why? Seems like start with a ZX instead of a ZG, do all that and it will go faster for less money.

I went a tad slower (9.95) with a little more MPH (144.86), but I was at stock ride height, no strap, and 40psi of air in both tires. Honestly, it had a 9.8-9.7 in it if I could have got some more seat time... that pass was only a 1.74 60'. Not bad for a 675lb bike on pump gas. Strapped and lowered I have no doubt it would have gone faster AND quicker. FWIW, I had no problems with wheelies out at the drag strip, so long as I got out of the hole cleanly.

By all means, buy (or borrow) any ZX you like and try to go cut 9 second ET's. Just let us know how it goes. And for those of you that CAN do that: add 200lbs, a tall windscreen, handlebar risers, a comfy seat, stock gearing, and a few sadlebags and try it again. I could 'grudge out' a turbo C14 and put it in the low 9's/high 8's, but THAT is actually kinda silly.... if that were your goal it would indeed make more sense to sart with a ZX.

A turbo C14 is a plain amazing bike not because it's "kinda slow" for a turbo bike, but because it's "kinda quick" compared to an open-class supersport.  8) The "why" lies within the whole reason most of us own a C14: It's comfy and capable all-round on the street. Having exactly the same bike but slightly quicker than a stock ZX10R? Talk about cake and eating it too. :)
