The mirrors on the 08-09 C14 were too low and have been improved upon since them. Most of us have found a sweet spot or added
mirrors to improve rear visibility.

There are better mirrors than those in the C14, but not many, and not by a huge margin. Most of them are worse. But it's a fact that the '08/09 models a third of them are covered by the bags (depending on setting) and the '10 onwards being a slight improvement, but not much. If Kawasaki made the mirrors with a cut-out to avoid the bags, we would probably not complain. Driving without bags is a pleasure for 2 reasons: I can see directly behind me (albeit adjusting the mirrors) and there's some weight high up that it's gone.
All that said, this is the bike I like the most for many reasons, and if the mirrors aren't perfect, I can adapt by looking over my shoulder, leaning my head or whatever it takes to keep a situational awareness, without which cars get tin damage, whereas motorcycle drivers die. I cannot adapt to a heavier bike, or with less power, or not as comfortable, or more expensive.

The power of the internet has struck again.

I posted a couple of days ago about wishing I could get my grubby hands on the mirror risers that were once for sale.

Got a pm on Monday.  Got risers today from the man himself.  Took all of 10 minutes to install.

Huge improvement on being able to see past the bags.  And really don't look bad to me.  Kinda unique as a matter of fact.

Thanks Jim for passing this on to Clyde.

And thanks Clyde for still having a set available.

The power of the internet---maybe stronger than Kipass. ;)

You're welcome.  Not the power of the internet or of Kipass.  The power of the collective mind of the forum.

So.... you follow too close & aren't situationally aware but it's the mirrors fault.  :o     Glad you weren't hurt.

Ditto.

I guess I am glad to have the 10+ mirror setup.  I think they work fine.
