No, I don't have a Connie, (anymore)
« on: January 20, 2014, 08:07:07 AM »
I got a email from a fellow rider that other day, asking me about my 2001 ZG, well.....that has been gone for quiet a while, wish sometimes I still had it though...so now.....after giving the riding a rest for a while (after the hearing loss thing) and regaining my balance.....(mostly)....

Last year in June I bought a V-Strom (Wee)....

Been on her  (except this winter...just can't do the cold much anymore) and I love her, but she aint a Connie...

I know, apples and grapes..but.....I'm really a roadster and not a off roadster...the Wee serves my purposes...mostly...I just wish she was a little more Interstate friendly....

OK  here she  is

Much as I hate the Interstate, sometimes nothing else will do. Good that you're still riding. Is a Connie back in your future?

If I could afford two, I'd have a Glide or another Road King.

That's a good looking bike! What matters is that you are having fun. And by the pics I'd say you are. Ride on, Miss Silvera.

Bit too clean for my tastes ;) .  Looks like it just came off the showroom floor.  BRP...great road.

Take care of the bike and it will take care of you......I have a routine that at the end of the riding day to wipe down the  bike and check it up and down and get her ready for the next day....that way I don't have to focus on anything but the days ride....

and....I'm crazy that way....

I am very lucky, I can be on the parkway in many places in a short ride

I'm thinking of selling the C14, DR650 and a Honda Rincon quad and replace with a 1190 ADV R.

I could without any doubt run 100 MPH all day on my 1000 Strom, more cc's and gearing makes a big difference. The 650 is such a great all around machine, but I agree on the slab that the 1000 is superior. The new 1000 coming out really has my juices flowing, although I am sure it would be some time before I got one.

And to be totally honest, I do not miss my C14 in the least bit. Too heavy, too fast, too much power, too hot, too much plastic, harder to work on and maintain......but it was for sure bad ass and I did enjoy it while I had it.  8)

Ah.....the allure of team orange. No desire for me at all, they are still not all around practical or reliable machines. Just hangout on ADVrider for a bit and browse the KTM sections, you will see what I am talking about. They are bad ass when they run, I will give them that.
