Batteries +
« on: October 28, 2013, 01:35:34 PM »
I have two batteries from Batteries + that are 7 and 9 years old and are doing just great!

I bought a new Battery last year from them for my 1800 Goldwing.  The first one was DOA.  It wouldn't work for over a day.  They replaced it with a better one.  It worked ok all this year as long as you rode at least once every few weeks.

I was overseas and didn't ride for 6 weeks.  The two batteries that are 7 and 9 years old cranked right over!  (St110 and a Valk).  The Goldwind was dead as a door nail!

What is going on with Batteries + stuff? Now junk?  It was a $90 battery and they said it was a great battery.  They said it must be my bike!  My bike must be discharging the battery.  BS.

When I have the batteries out of the  bikes for the winter.  Stored in the basement (nice and warm) it will not hold a charge for over 2 weeks before it is below 12v.  The other two older batteries hold 12v or better for well over 6 weeks out of the bikes before I put the charger on them.

Anyone eles have a history with Batteries +?  CK

Battery on my Valk died on a trip in 08. I bought a new one from Batteries + in Grand Junction. My son now has that bike with the same battery and still working fine.

I just had a lousy experience with my local B+ franchise. I have found the help to be young and dumb. I was told a flashlight I purchased there could be warrantied in store. Last weekend made a special trip to the store and the story was completely changed. Have to send the product back myself.

I realize a battery going bad is not the same as poor service but here's hoping you have better luck returning or exchanging.
If it can't be fixed with a hammer you can sure as hell teach it a lesson.

I used to be a regular Batt + customer but after 2 recent bad experiences, and I am talking REALLY bad, I wont go back to them for anything. On both occasions they damaged my stuff and just took an "oh well" attitude about it. I even called the customer service # for corporate to see if I could get the attention of someone above the store level......... still nothing.

On the topic of bike batteries though, has anyone ever used the MotoBatt brand? I was drawn to the scantily clad female model at the recent AIM Expo here in Orlando and was impressed with the sales pitch about the batteries. She told me how they line the battery with Mexican jumping beans and it is that constant movement that produces static electricity and always keeps the battery at a full charge.  ;D ........ Obviously joking on that part, but the batteries did look pretty solid................. or it may have just been her, dammit, its all a blur to me now.
