Murphs kits Left grip heater fail
« on: October 12, 2013, 08:11:04 AM »
Last spring it seemed like my left grip heater wasn't doing as good as the right but I never looked into it. These last several days have had some chilly mornings and I figured out the left one wasn't working at all. I tried both high and low settings. I have not had time to look into it yet other than a quick check to look for loose or broken wires. Nothing jumped out at me.
These are the kit I got from Murphs. Any common failure points I should look at first?

Thanks, Matt

:)

Sorry you had one fail.  I know some people on this forum have the Murph's.  Have never seen a post about one failing, though.  Have you had to remove the grips for any reason other to install the Murphs?

Did not recall any reports of failures but I'm old and forgetful!
Have not pulled the grips since I installed the heaters. Don't think I can get the grips off without destroying them. I was hoping to find a loose wire but so far no luck. Need to find my instructions so I can see how the switch mounted so I can avoid tearing it up when I try to pull it out and check it.
